The Cholesterol and Alzheimer’s Connection

Alzheimer’s affects nearly five million people each year, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. In the past month, researchers have covered several new findings about how the body responds and may even prevent the disease from happening. Just this week, a study published in the JAMA Neurology found a connection between high LDL and low HDL cholesterol levels and the presence of Alzheimer’s or dementia. September is a very special month as we observe World Alzheimer’s Month. For the second year, Alzheimer’s organizations across the globe are uniting to raise awareness for a disease that affects over five million Americans and countless more worldwide.
