Every month we like to focus on a specific store that carries Kelapo and find out a little more about them! This month we chose Clark’s Market in Aspen, CO and what a wonderful choice. In all of the communication that I had with them they were friendly and polite and gave us some great information about their background and who they are!
Clark’s Market – Aspen
300 Puppy Smith St Aspen, CO 81621
- What is the story behind the store
Tom Clark first became interested in the grocery business while working at Safeway. He loved getting to know the ins and outs of the retail business and when he came to Aspen on his honeymoon in 1970, he fell in love with the community and decided to move there. The town at that point badly needed another grocery store and he jumped at the opportunity when a land developer took a chance on him to fill that need. The first Clark’s Market opened in Aspen on November 9, 1978 and is now a fixture in the community.
- What makes you unique?
Clark’s Market has evolved to reflect the communities it serves. There are several locations across Colorado’s Western Slope and in the small community of Blanding, Utah. In Aspen, CO, Clark’s offers customers a conventional grocery store that emphasizes the natural, organic, and gourmet products that are important to its health conscious consumers.
- Are there any special events or sale days coming up?
Clark’s Market has several annual promotions designed to bring the best and freshest food to its customers at an affordable price. We recently wrapped up our annual President’s Day Cheese Sale featuring a wide variety of the best cheeses from around the world and our very best prices. Coming up in March, we hold our annual Seafood Extravaganza featuring both a wide variety of both Hawaiian seafood along with shrimp, lobster, Atlantic king crab and more! Recently, we were proud to begin offering for our customers high quality, grass fed beef raised on our very own ranch in Emma.
- What size jars of Kelapo do you carry?
Both 8 and 14 oz jars.
- Do you have anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Clark’s Market recognizes that its success is dependent on the loyalty of its customers and believes in putting forth the very best product at the best price and doing so with the highest level of service. We are strongly committed to the communities we serve and believe in giving back to the community in as many ways as we can. We donate a large amount of money to many different charities and non-profit groups as well as our local school systems and civic groups. One of our favorite events is our annual Halloween party, held for preschool children and our Mother’s Day event in May. We invite children to visit our store to decorate a free cake for their Moms!
