Helps whiten teeth since I drink lots of coffee, and kills bad bacteria in the mouth and gums while leaving the good bacteria. It also helps with my teeth at preventing cavities naturally and healing gingivitis and bleeding of gums from gingivitis plus freshens the breath. Good for brushing teeth when mixed with baking soda and helps get food particles from between teeth. Helps with toothaches as well and has even healed tooth erosion from cavities in my mouth.

I put this in the folk remedy category- absolutely no evidence this could do anything but give you a good taste in your mouth! This is sort of along the lines of “ear candling”. Hello! You have ear drums, people! Anyway, I LOVE coconut and coconut oil so I’ll continue to use in food.

We hope that you were able to try oil pulling! A lot of consumers have told us that they do it the most in the shower to help the time pass by quicker!

I do oil pulling daily because my mouth and lips have a bad reaction to SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate, located on toothpaste boxes in “other” or “inactive” ingredients). There are very few toothpastes without SLS. Coconut oil pulling has changed my life!!! My lips no longer peel until they bleed, and I don’t even need to wear any lip balms and can for the first time in my life, at age 50, can wear lipstick!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an uncommon reaction, but I also had this. It got pretty sore, but did clear up within the week. I took it as a sign that it was working, drawing out the toxins.
