Lavender and Rose Mother’s Day Foot Scrub

Lavender and Rose Mother's Day Foot Scrub

Part 2 of our homemade Mother’s Day gift is a Lavender and Rose Foot Scrub made with one of our more unique coconut oil recipes. Moms love to be pampered and what better way to pamper your mom than making her homemade foot scrub to use after a long, hard day (scrubbing your mom’s feet is optional)!

1 cup coarse kosher salt or sugar (we used coconut sugar)

1/2 cup Kelapo coconut oil (heat to a liquid consistency)

10 drops Lavender Essential Oil

10 drops Rose Absolute Oil

2-3 teaspoons Vitamin E Oil

Honey or agave nectar for a nice consistency

Combine all of the ingredients into a glass jar.  If the mix is too runny add a little more sugar or salt.

How to use:

Before bedtime, have your mom use about a tablespoon on each foot and massage well.

Pay attention to rough areas including heels.  Rinse lightly and pat dry making sure not to rinse all of the coconut oil off.  The lavender will leave her feeling relaxed for a good nights sleep.  Slip on soft socks to help the coconut oil moisturize her feet while she sleeps.  She will wake up with the softest feet ever!

Arrange your homemade chocolate truffles and foot scrub into a nice basket with candles, lotions, or whatever your mom loves!  There you have it, the perfect mother’s day gift!

I have seen recipes like yours and others which include the use of essential oils. Where can you buy them?

Verena, You can get them at some vitamin shops or health food stores with a beauty section. also has a great selection if you can’t find them where you live.
