Hello everyone, with the holiday season coming up I know a lot of you are going to be doing quite a bit of extra baking. One of the best things you can do when baking is
replace butter in any of your recipes with Kelapo Coconut Oil. When substituting coconut oil for butter one of the most important things to remember is that you need to get the coconut oil to the same consistency that the recipe calls for the butter to be whether it is solid, liquefied, or softened. Here are some simple tips for adjusting the consistency of your coconut oil:
Solid to Liquid
Place your desired amount of coconut oil into a bowl and microwave about 30 seconds.
Solid to Softened
Place your desired amount of coconut oil into a microwave safe dish and microwave 10 seconds microwave an additional 5 seconds if you do not see the desired results, don’t worry if you go too far you can just throw it in the freezer for a minute.
Liquid to solid
To quickly convert liquid coconut oil to its solid-state place the desired amount of coconut oil into the freezer for five minutes.
Liquid to Softened
To soften your liquid coconut oil place your desired amount in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
Softened to Solid
Depending on how soft your coconut oil is you can quickly convert it to its solid state by placing it in the freezer for 1-5 minutes
Softened to Liquid
To liquefy your softened coconut oil place the desired amount into a microwave safe dish and microwave for 20-30 seconds.
I hope you found this quick guide helpful and informative!
