Green Berry Protein Smoothie

I recently got a new blender and I’m so excited to get back on my smoothie game! I love doing a mix of fruits and veggies to ensure I get all the necessary daily nutrients. The sweetness of the fruit helps balance the bitterness of the vegetables so all you taste is delicious goodness. Smoothies are also great because you can add in extra vitamins, minerals, and proteins to give your body and smoothie an extra boost.

This smoothie has been my go-to recently! It is deliciously deceiving because its green color makes it look like it will taste like a salad, but it actually just tastes like sweet berries! Yum! I like to buy fresh fruit and prebatch my ingredients for the week in small freezer bags so all I need to do toss the frozen stuff in the blender and add the remaining ingredients. I generally try to use a couple of different kinds of frozen fruit (this is a little trick I use instead of adding in ice which will just make the smoothie watery), a leafy green, a liquid base (any juice or almond milk work great), and an add-in or two. Skip the ice cream next time you want a cold treat. Make a smoothie instead! Your body will thank you.

Ingredients

1 handful frozen strawberries

1 handful frozen raspberries

1-2 handful fresh baby spinach

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

½ – 1 tablespoon Kelapo coconut oil

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the blender.
  1. Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Let me know what your favorite smoothie recipes are so I can try them out myself!
