Dear Bath Bomb Lovers…

Who doesn’t love to relax at home with a bubble bath and a good book? I absolutely love to break open a bottle of wine and just let myself unwind with a book and a bath. Today is the day to make that dream a reality.

The key? Kelapo Coconut Oil.

Instead of buying those expensive bath bombs at Lush you can easily make them in the comfort of your own home!

Natural Bath Bombs

Ingredients needed:

½ cup of baking soda

¼ cup of citric acid

¼ of sea salt

2 tablespoons of Kelapo Coconut Oil (melted)

Bath bomb molds (can be easily found at crafts stores)

Essential Oil (optional)

First you’ll want to get a bowl so you can mix in all the dry ingredients and then add the melted Kelapo Coconut Oil. Once whisked together the consistency should be like that of wet sand. If you like aromas, then I would use essential oils. You can get completely creative with the essential oils. There are blends that focus on anxiety, sleep or even calm you. After mixing in the essential oils you are ready to add your mix to the bath bomb molds. After about 5 minutes you can gently unmold your molds. Let the bath bombs dry for a day or two but be very gentle because once out the mold they are still fragile. Do not move them around too much.

 Colorful Coconut Oil Bath Bombs

If you’re looking for something with loads of colors, then these are the perfect bath bombs to make! They’re the perfect gift too.

Ingredients needed:

1 cup of baking soda

½ cup of citric acid

½ cup of corn starch

½ cup of Epsom salt

3 tablespoons of Kelapo Coconut Oil

1 tablespoon of almond oil

Vegetable-based food coloring

Your choice of essential oils

Bath bomb molds (can be easily found at crafts stores)

Get another large bowl and add all the dry ingredients then begin to mix. You’ll want to divide the mix in 3 so get 3 small bowls that you can put them in. Next, you’ll want to melt 1 tablespoon of Kelapo Coconut Oil in a cup and add about 2 to 3 drops of food coloring. Mix red and blue to get purple or add some dark blue hues to create a galaxy looking bath bomb. The exact coloring won’t appear until you’ve mixed the coconut oil with the dry ingredients. Add about 1/3 of a teaspoon of almond oil and then about 5 to 10 drops of essential oils. Pour the coconut oil mixture into one of the 3 bowls you’ve divided the dry ingredients with and use your hands to mix everything together. If the color does not turn out like how you wanted, do not fret, just mix more food coloring with coconut oil and add it in. Once you’ve gotten the color result that you wanted for all three bowls, pack the mixtures into the bath bomb molds you picked out. Freeze the molds for about 20 minutes. When removing the bath bombs from the molds warm the mold with your hands or put over lukewarm water for about 20 seconds and squeeze on each side until the bath bomb pops out.

Whether the bath bombs are for your personal pleasure or a quick DIY gift, I hope that this helped.

Peace, love and Kelapo ♥
