Cheese Lovers Delight

National Cheese Day is here and for all your cheese lovers, that were mice in another life, we’re sharing the best recipes to make! Clean out the cheese aisle at your favorite grocery store because this is about to get real cheesy.

Bacon Cheddar Chips

This super simple appetizer is the best quickest way for cheese lovers to get their fix! Just bake and enjoy!

Ingredients needed:

2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

6 strips of bacon (chopped)

¼ cup of chives

Salt (to taste)

Pepper (to taste)

Kelapo Ghee Non-Stick Cooking Spray

Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Next, place the bacon strips on the skillet to cook until crispy. Once they’re cooked, chop them into small pieces. In a large bowl add the bacon pieces, cheddar cheese, chives, salt, and pepper. Mix all the ingredients together until they’re evenly combined. Once that’s ready, grease a mini muffin tin with Kelapo Ghee Spray and with an ice cream scoop fill each tin with cheese. After they’re all filled, use your fingers to press down on the cheese and make sure everything sticks together. Op in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are slightly brown. Once the cheddar chips have cooled, serve with ranch or blue cheese!

Four Cheese Baked Ziti

Ingredients needed:

8 ounces of ziti

1 cup of ricotta cheese

⅔ cup of grated provolone cheese

4 ounces of mozzarella cheese (cubed)

½ cup of grated parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon of fresh ground pepper

1 tablespoon of fresh parsley (chopped)

1 tablespoon of fresh basil (chopped)

1 24 oz can of jarred tomato sauce

Toppings

¼ of shredded provolone cheese

¼ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

Begin by preheating the oven to 375 degrees. Next, cook the pasta based on the instructions on the box but only for half of the time specified. Once the pasta is ready then drain completely. In a medium sized bowl add the ricotta, provolone, mozzarella, parmesan, pepper, parsley and basil, and combine. In an 8×8 baking dish pour a layer of the jarred tomato sauce. Only enough to cover the bottom of the pan. Next, add about ⅓ of the cooked pasta on top and another layer of the jarred tomato sauce on top. Now, add the cheese mixture which should be a total of 6 scoops. Repeat this process until you’re out of pasta, tomato sauce and cheese mixture. Add the last toppings of mozzarella and provolone on the ziti and place an aluminum foil piece on top. Pop in the oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the foil from the dish and let bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese on top has completely melted and the ziti is bubbling around the edges. Take out the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Mac ‘N’ Cheeseballs

Who better to create convenient and never thought of recipes than Tasty? These are a must try if you’re a true mouse at heart.

Ingredients needed:

12 oz cheese puff

¼ cup of Kelapo Ghee (melted)

½ cup of milk

2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

8 oz cream cheese

1 lb of elbow macaroni

1 ½ cups of flour

3 eggs (beaten)

Oil (for frying)

Salt (to taste)

Pepper (to taste)

Place all the cheese puffs in a Ziplock bag and smash them down lightly until they become powder. Next, add the Kelapo Ghee to a pan and let melt. Once melted, add in the milk, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Whisk everything together over medium heat until it’s completely melted and has become a cheese sauce. Next, cook the elbow pasta based on the instructions on the box and drain completely. Once the pasta has cooled, place in a bowl and pour the cheese sauce on top. Using a non-stick spatula mix the sauce with the pasta until evenly distributed and pasta is fully coated in cheese. Place a piece of aluminum foil on top and place in the fridge for about 2 to 3 hours so the pasta can cool. Once it’s out of the fridge, use your hands to take the mac n cheese and form it into 1-inch balls (Watch the Tasty video if you cannot figure it out). In separate small bowl lay out the flour, beaten eggs and cheese puff powder. Dip each cheese ball into the flour first, next the beaten egg and then the cheese puff powder. Fill a pot with oil to fry all the mac ‘n’ cheese balls until the outside is completely crispy (about 2 to 3 minutes). Once done, transfer to a wire rack so the excess oil can drip off. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top before eating.
