More and more celebrity uses for coconut oil have been popping up, which I have been so excited to see! From Miranda Kerr to Gwyneth Paltrow, the celebrity list keeps on growing. Over the last couple of months there have been new celebrities expressing their love for this tropical oil, whether it is in the kitchen or applied topically. Let’s see what these celebrities are doing with this versatile oil.
Shailene Woodley – Shailene’s uses for coconut oil are appearing more and more now, with a new use each time she mentions this healthy fat. On top of oil pulling, Woodley uses coconut oil as a ritual in her morning coffee to make bullet proof coffee. “I put a little bit of coconut oil in there. It’s coffee, coconut oil, and butter,” Shailene told Style. Learn more about bulletproof coffee here.
Jamie Chung – Before this beauty walked down the aisle, she shared some of her pre-wedding secrets with InStyle. To keep her locks silky smooth, Chung uses coconut oil as a hair treatment. “Put it on once a week, go four inches from the scalp and make sure that it goes all the way down to the tips,” she tells InStyle. “Just keep it in for 10 minutes and do a regular wash.” Try this DIY caramel hair mask that smells delicious and softens hair in no time.
Melissa D’Arabian – My favorite Food Network Chef, host of 10 Dollar Dinners, recently published a recipe for sweet and salty peanut-honey popcorn that was popped with coconut oil. Instead of drizzling on boring butter, opting for this healthy fat gives a flavor that is to-die-for. I promise once you try it, you won’t go back!
